How to tell if a deal is actually worth it

Seven quick checks that separate genuine value from a crossed-out price designed to rush you.

A good deal lowers the cost of something you planned to buy. A bad one pushes you to spend faster. Here is what to check before deciding.

Is the regular price real?

Compare the crossed-out price with other sellers. If everyone already sells the product for the same amount, the advertised percentage may just be telling a good story.

What is the delivered total?

Add shipping, tax, fees and any condition that makes you buy more. Free shipping above a threshold gets expensive when it fills your cart with things you did not need.

Can you return it?

Check the return window, return fees, warranty and sale-item exclusions. A low price with no recourse can become a poor purchase.

Is the deadline clear?

A real offer states when it ends and explains its main conditions. Be cautious with countdowns that restart or scarcity claims you cannot verify.

Is the seller trustworthy?

Confirm the domain, contact details, payment methods and retailer reputation. A spectacular price does not help if the product never arrives.

Are you comparing the same format?

Compare unit price, volume, exact model and included accessories. Nearly identical packaging can hide different quantities.

Was the purchase already planned?

This is the most important question. Saving 30% on something unnecessary still means spending 70% too much.

The three-question test: Do I need it? Is this the best delivered total? Would I buy it without the countdown?
